Our supplier and plantation partnerships are built on the same philosophy: long-term over transactional. We prioritise transparent documentation practices, sustainable agricultural sourcing, and stakeholder engagement at every operational level — fostering mutual growth, shared accountability, and enduring commercial partnerships rather than season-by-season contract churning that erodes plantation worker conditions.
Our community commitment extends beyond commercial engagement through The Samley Loyalty Pledge — a structured CSR framework investing in plantation communities, skills development, inclusive economic participation, and access to education. The framework operates on a multi-year basis with appointed trustee oversight, structured reporting, and the kind of accountability that distinguishes a real CSR program from charitable photo opportunities.

Carbon Verified Operations
We hold current Carbon Verified status — documented assessment and third-party verification of our operational emissions profile. This isn't a number that lives in a marketing brochure; it's a measured baseline from which we're actively reducing year over year. Verification is updated on standard cycles, with results forming part of our supplier disclosure.
On-Site Solar Energy
On-site solar panel installations now power a portion of our facility operations, reducing reliance on conventional grid energy. Continuous energy efficiency improvements and operational performance monitoring track impact — turning what could be a one-time installation announcement into an ongoing reduction trajectory tied to measurable outcomes.
Resource & Waste Management
Waste minimisation practices, packaging efficiency improvements, responsible material sourcing, and productivity through cleaner technologies are continuously refined across operations. Preserving Sri Lanka's natural ecosystems directly sustains Ceylon tea integrity — a relationship that aligns environmental responsibility with our core product quality, not an external bolt-on.
Ozone-Friendly Production
Our Ceylon teas are produced without methyl bromide fumigation — part of Sri Lanka's nationally recognised ozone-friendly tea production standard. Methyl bromide is a regulated ozone-depleting substance phased out of agricultural use under the Montreal Protocol. Our supply chain operates above that compliance bar by default, not by exception.
Every Cup Contributes
to a Greater Cause.
1% of revenue from every Samley product sold is allocated to a dedicated CSR Fund — managed by appointed trustees, structured under formal governance, and exclusively committed to three causes: education for children from tea plantation worker families, assistance for differently-abled fellow Sri Lankans, and creating access to resources that enable dignity and independence.
We believe commercial success must translate into measurable social impact. The 1% commitment is structured to scale with Samley's growth — every additional kilogram of tea exported translates into additional funding for plantation education and differently-abled support programs. Commerce and contribution scale together by design, not as a discretionary line item.

The 2040 Commitment.
Samley has formally committed to achieving Net Zero Carbon emissions by 2040. The pledge isn't a one-time announcement — it's a structured trajectory supported by measurable milestones, ongoing emissions monitoring, and progressive reduction strategies that compound year over year. Carbon Verified status, on-site solar deployment, and operational efficiency programs are the active building blocks moving us toward the 2040 target.
Our certifications, third-party audits, and verified operational baselines provide the documentation backbone that lets these commitments stand up to scrutiny rather than dissolve under it.
